ARTIST STATEMENT

ARTIST STATE MENT

Art is a symbolic expression of which I am where I come from.  My art is also an expressions of my experiences. Art gives a mental way out regardless what the situation. That is how I approach my art As a means of escape in reverse its meaning and emotion is captivating. Art also shows realistic emotion, hint, I am a realist artist, why? My  concept of my paintings is  the models  them language. Their facial features who they are. What do they look like in side?, meaning can you feel the personality threw my painting of the model.  I want to try an capture the Essences of the individual. Guiding a person towards unthinkable realism is like showing people the naked truth, which in some cases people don’t really know how to handle the truth. I am more and more interested in the many qualities and traditions of figure/portrait painting.
When my work is going well I feel a major sense of accomplishment. This sense of accomplishment, comes from  progress, understanding my medium  and the brushes I use to create masterpieces. A lot of what I do as an artist connects with concepts and ideas the “why” in art. What is the master plan  as a whole? I ask my self this question to generate my creations. I love to work in series and I enjoy working big. Working on  a large scale allows me to use the paint along with music my experiences is clam, serene , even heavenly. Because artistic expression has been the bases of my life I have grown accustom to the essence of creating a work of art. My work may appear to be warm and colorful these patterns over the course of me painting has increased to the love of color. Now every painting I create has extreme amounts of  ranging from warm reds to the coolest blues. This pattern of color has shaped my artistic personality visually wanting to explore the possibilities of abstraction. How colors work in relationship to one another. In the future I will merge other material to advance special relationships with in a work of art.
My main attraction of being an artist is people. One can say  “your inner personality is the key to your art expression”. Its how I am as an artist inside that creates my work of art. My work can be described as soulful, rich in color and  bold. I believe those are attributes of how I am as a person. In the process of creating art I enjoy using the brushes and oil paint. The brushes gives me a sense of control. I paint with oils ,I use oil because of the color and conversation between the oil, brush and surface. Looking at my prior work verses my current work I haven’t changed much conceptually. I have changed by exploring abstraction of the figure, not to the extreme of cubism but amplifying the plans of the figure that emphasizes shape. I am now  challenging my self to explore from traditional art  to contemporary. This journey will lead me to endless possibilities.

Research Paper "DIGITAL DESIGN"

Ways of Seeing Digital Art:
Is Digital Art, Art?

What is art? In my mind, art is an individual expression of how you feel or what you see. Art is a pure expression of who you are regardless of the medium used. I believe that the computer is a significant tool in art. It gives a different approach each time. There are many kinds of fine digital art, such as abstract, realism, digital appearance, fantasy and also photography which are created in programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and others. In regards to computer art it is both expressive and requires technical skill. Although digital art may have certain technical limitations. It does not hinder the expressive nature of digital art in any way. Local art news states the question, is the art world ready for computer generated art (Art Business News)? Some people are. Artists believe so . An artist form California named Corinne Whitaker has replaced her easel with a pair of computer monitors and stylus that serves as her brush against an electrostatic tablet that is her canvas. Much like a physician performing arthroscopic surgery, the artist ‘s hand moves across a remote slate, while her eyes study the image emerging across the screen. . As an art citizen, she agrees that some artists need to break out of the tradition in art painting. As the world and the electronics grow, and technology gets stronger and more prevalent to the nation, we have to adapt to the era that is taken place: technology is “in,” it’s a new day. Of course we have a tradition of painting and the canvas, dating back to the 15-1600’s Italian renaissance, but this is 21st century, and the artist and art viewer need to think out side the box. Most people do not agree with computer generated art, they ask is it art? Must the image be rendered by hand considered fine art?
“I have had a personal computer ever since the Vic 20 was first available back in the early 80s. As the graphic capabilities of the personal computer have grown, so has my interest in using the
computer as a graphic arts medium. In the last two decades, I have learned to master the technology that allows me to unleash my creative self. I create images that are outside of the box of conventional art, thought the use of fractal generation, 3D rendering, and photo manipulation. Due to advances in computer technology and affordability, I have been able to finally put my off the wall imagination on the wall, as photographic quality art prints. With my new Epson wide format printer, lots of ram, and a passion for large scale detail,” says, - DALE ADCOCK, surreal graphic artist (Megart.com, 1).
“ Art whether generated by brush stroke or a stylus against electronic tablets, is still art,” said James Herrera of California. In agreement with his statement as stated before. No matter what medium is used or how an artist uses it, it should still be considered art. To the right is an example of how beautiful a piece can be done on a computer. The artist uses warm colors to give a warm abstract feeling to the viewer. A local collector expresses his feelings on the matter; “Digital art can be as fine as collectable as traditional abstract forms of art. We collect newspaper clippings, baseball cards, and gale prints and originals oils. If the images speak to us, we’ll collect computer-generated art as well. These artist and collectors obviously have a strong belief that digital art is art” (Art Business News, 2).
In retrospect there are many styles of digital art, such as abstract, fine digital art, fantasy, photographic manipulation, and graphic design. To the left, is a demonstration of fine art digital design, a painting manipulated on a computer. It shows the viewer once again a variety of color and composition just as a painting on a canvas would . Artist are known to think out side the box; for taking their artistic exploration beyond what’s possible and literally creating new forms of expression. Perhaps they will open our minds to what is possible. Enabling us to incorporate what japanning in our society with what can happen in art.
